Dear Baltimore Parade of Lighted Boats Participant:

Welcome to the 27th Annual Baltimore Parade of Lighted Boats. This event is produced by the Fells Point Yacht Club, Inc.  The Parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 6, 2014.

The parade route will be through the Fells Point and Inner Harbor areas. We will use two groups for forming up; the Inner Harbor Group, and the Fells Point Group.  The plan is for two complete passes around the parade route for all boats.

The boats will be judged and prizes awarded.  The prizes to be awarded will be for Best in Parade-Overall, Best Theme of Christmas - First & Second Place, Best Illuminated - First & Second Place, Best Large Power Boat - First & Second Place, Best Small Power Boat - First & Second Place, Best Large Sail Boat - First & Second, and Best Small Sail Boat - First & Second, Work Boats - First & Second.

The parade groups will begin forming up shortly after 5:00 p.m., as directed by the Parade Marshall and the assisting Safety Boats.  The parade will start at 6:00 p.m. in Fells Point and proceed to the Inner Harbor ariving about 6:30 p.m for the first of  two passages, back and forth from Fells Point to the Inner Harbor.  The Parade lasts somewhat less than two hours, and is immediately followed by an awards banquet which this year will be at the Polish Home Club (512 S Broadway in Fells Point.

Any vessel may enter the parade, provided it is properly insured and the skipper adheres to all the rules and regulations of the U.S.C.G., Maryland D.N.R., the Marine Unit of the Baltimore City Police and the Baltimore Fire Department.  Participants must fill out the registration form available on this website. This form should be received by e-mail (from this website).  The entry fee is $35 per vessel, which is due at the MANDATORY Skippers Meeting at the Polish Home Club on December 4th at 7p.m.  Light refreshments will be provided.

We do ask that each Captain, crew member and guest on each vessel donate an unwrapped non-plush toy( to the Marine Corps Toys-for-Tots program.  Donated toys will be collected at the post-parade banquet and awards ceremony.  Participating parade guests, captains and individual crew who do not bring a toy to the dinner & ceremony at the Polish Home Club, will be asked for a $10.00 contribution for the Marine Corps Toys-for-Tots Program.  

To Repeat, attendance at the Skippers' Meeting is mandatory.  The meeting will be held on Thursday, December 4th, 2014, at 7 p.m, at Polish Home in Fells Point.

For participating boats, there will be free dockage Saturday Night (with electric) if they leave their lights on at the dock at Harbor East Marina.
